GIWAS is a Christ-centered international learning community. We connect students, mentors, families, educational institutions, and supporters around one shared life of learning and generosity.

Why we exist

Educational opportunity is unevenly distributed, and the gap is rarely only about money. Students also need someone who knows their name, someone who has gone before them, and a community that expects them to flourish.

GIWAS exists to hold those things together: academic opportunity, Christian character, mentoring relationships, and generosity that passes from one generation of students to the next.

An educational philosophy

We believe education is formation, not accumulation. A student is not a collection of credits, but a person learning to see the world clearly and to serve it faithfully.

So we value careful teaching, unhurried conversation, honest work, and the kind of relationships that can carry a student through a hard semester.

Our relationship with Wisdom House Academy

GIWAS grows out of the Wisdom House Academy community, where families, teachers, and alumni have long shared a common life of learning and faith. Wisdom House Academy, Inc., a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, administers GIWAS and is the legal recipient of every gift made to it.
